camper van - maiden voyage

Just back from a few days away with my sister. Just the two of us - great fun and sooo relaxing.

My Dad bought a camper van a couple of summers ago and often went off to Scotland on 'walkie' holidays with his dog Cito.  Unfortunately Cito is no longer with us and Dad's new dog, Duke is an absolute handful so it's not so relaxing for Dad to go away in the camper!  Duke is a bit of a chewer and has already had a nibble at the handbrake - eek!

My sister and her three kids have used the camper for their holidays too - I don't know how they all managed to fit in!  This summer the camper has got an extension - a lovely big awning with a double bedroom and seating area.

As yet I haven't been away in it.  I am new to the whole idea of cooking by calor gas and having an electric hook-up.  Camping in our tent (over ten years ago) was much more basic - no lights, hairdryer, phone chargers, iPads etc.  So Alison and I headed off on Monday morning to Skipton.  It's only an hour away from home but a place we're not too familiar with so it was somewhere new to explore.

happy anniversary

MrG and I celebrated our 26th Wedding Anniversary yesterday.  We celebrated by going out for a meal to a local eatery called Cafe17 and had a truly scrumptious meal.

I looked out a wedding photo from 26 years ago!
